Teaching and Mentoring
My goal as an educator is to provide students with a complete music education that includes not only performance practice, but also competencies in the business of music, how to maintain healthy mental and physical well-being, professional development, and audition prep.
In addition to holding two degrees in vocal performance, I also was awarded an Advanced Artist Diploma from Carnegie Mellon University with a concentration in vocal pedagogy. As a genre hopping musician, I wanted to ensure that my singing was physically and stylistically correct no matter what style I found myself performing. In my teaching, I encourage my students to explore everything music has to offer and to approach singing different genres not with fear but rather with curiosity. (For a more detailed list of my qualifications and past experience, please refer to my bio.)
Classical singing is my foundation, but I am also able to teach jazz, musical theater, pop, rock, and songwriting techniques.
All lessons and mentoring sessions are taught using a hybrid model of 3 Zoom sessions per month with the option of 1 in-person session in the NY/NJ area.
